Our project
A small school, a big project
La Font is a cooperative of families and teachers in Vic. We work with art and creativity as tools for discovery, in a warm and beautiful setting, and we accompany each child from the earliest years right through to secondary school.

“We bring the world close to children through observation and beauty, respecting the rhythm proper to each age.”

An education in values
What we want to nurture
Above content, we educate people. Every day we work so that children grow up with confidence, know how to live alongside others and care for the world around them.
- Respect and empathy
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Cooperation and living together
- Creativity and self-knowledge
- Care for nature
- A love of work done well
A day at La Font
The day has a clear, calm rhythm, like breathing. The morning begins with circle time, a song and movement; then comes lively, artistic work; later, free play and a good while outside, whatever the weather. On some days the whole school smells of freshly baked bread. These rhythms, of the day, the week and the seasons, give children security and help them feel at home.

Nature and good food
Eating well and spending time outdoors are two of the things families love most about La Font, and it shows. We tend the garden, watch the seasons change and bake bread with our own hands. These aren't extras: they're part of how the children learn to live.

The origin of this way of educating
“Vague and general phrases … cannot provide the basis for a genuine art of education. Such an art of education can only be built up on a real knowledge of the human being.”
A self-funded school
La Font is a self-funded cooperative, sustained by the families and the team. This gives us the freedom to stay true to the project and care for the individual attention given to each child.
Visit us
The best way to understand it is to come and see
A Waldorf school is best understood by walking through it. We open our doors several times a year, and every month you can come on a guided visit. No commitment: just to get to know us.
